For normal picnics, we’re not responsible for helping you keep it a secret however when doing proposal picnics, we do our best to ensure we don’t call or communicate with you when you’re with your partner. You will get our emails and SMSs though so suggest being careful with any email you choose. Please advise us if you don’t wish to get our SMSs or need to change email addresses.
All of our locations are only a short walk from where you can park your car. While any standard vehicle can easily access our spots, we recommend not bringing any particularly low vehicles as some of the tracks are on dirt and have potholes. Some locations do require you to step down small ledges to the edge of a cliff. Before choosing your location, we explain if they are easy or difficult to access so you can choose accordingly but please contact us if you have any specific queries.
During the picnic, you are hiring our equipment and are responsible for ensuring it is not damaged or stolen. If you accidentally damage some of our picnic equipment, please just be honest with us. We check the condition of everything before and after every picnic so we will notice. You must pay for anything that is damaged or missing after your picnic. We do know that accidents happen and will be as understanding as possible.
If we do go into stricter lockdowns and are unable to operate our picnics, we will postpone your picnic at no cost to you. When we can run our picnics again we will reschedule with you.
Yes, we can mail you a professionally printed gift certificate which makes a great present to slip into a card, we charge no extra for this service. Otherwise we can provide you with a digital gift certificate should you need it quickly. All you need to do is choose the type of Picnic you’re gifting and the recipient will select their date, location, food and so on after receiving the gift certificate. It all depends on how far in advance we are booked out but we typically require at minimum 3 days notice to book a picnic. We do suggest booking in advance where possible as this means you’ll be more likely to get the exact date, time and location you want plus you can also pay the picnic off in a payment plan this way. If you’d like to book in a shorter timeframe than this please contact us.
We typically only provide picnics on weekends during daylight hours but can potentially do a week day picnic for an additional fee. We are typically booked a fair bit in advance so do suggest booking in early to avoid missing out. You can also call us in the lead up to your picnic as needed and we endeavour to have the best possible customer service.
You can book via our website here https://book.bluemountainspicnics.com.au You can complete your booking online including date and time, type of picnic and whether you wish to pay in full or a payment plan. Once you book you will be sent the details to select your chalkboard message along with food and beverage choices.
We send regular emails in the lead up to your picnic explaining everything you need to know. The day before your picnic, you will receive detailed information to help you find the location, for proposals we do send this information in advance so you can have the opportunity to visit the location if you wish. This includes the GPS location to put into your phone plus directions. We also have a video for the morning of the picnic showing you where to go once you arrive. When you arrive, the picnic will already be setup and we will have left so you can ‘stumble’ across the picnic without us there. If you are having a Gourmet Picnic, we will leave the food and beverages there for you otherwise you can enjoy your own food and drinks if you have chosen the BYO option. You have 2 hours to enjoy the picnic and once finished you simply leave the location. We then arrive to pack and clean up your picnic.
Yes, we can cater for allergies and other dietary requirements. Our food is prepared by chefs so simply let us know your requirements and we will be fine to accommodate them
We require a non-refundable $100 + GST deposit to secure the booking. You can then cancel your picnic up to 4 weeks (28 days) out from the picnic, you will receive a full refund less the deposit. Please allow up to 10 days for refunds to be received once they’re processed. Please review our Terms & Conditions at the bottom of our website for further details.
Yes, you can reschedule up to 4 weeks (28 days) out from the picnic. There is no cost involved. If you cancel or don’t show up within 28 days of your picnic then the cancellation policy will apply and no refund will be provided.
It is important you’re aware that naturally our picnics are weather dependant. In the event that a picnic is weather affected, say by rain or high wind, we will be postponing the picnics in advance. We will judge this from weather forecasts and typically make the decision on a Thursday morning. If the forecast is looking bad we will notify you and delay buying any food or beverages. This decision is entirely at our own discretion however we will endeavour to communicate as effectively as possible about this. If we do cancel for a particular weekend, you can then reschedule your picnic for any location at your earliest convenience.
