PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE

To secure your booking, all we need is a $100 + GST deposit. We offer custom payment plans at no extra cost. Once we receive your deposit we will be in touch to organise the best arrangements with you and just need you to have paid in full prior to the day. If you prefer, you can still pay upfront to save the extra mucking around with a payment plan but it makes no difference from our end so please do whatever is best for you.

Weekday Picnics

We typically only hold picnics on weekends as we run back to back picnics with 2 locations running at once. This allows us to spread the workload out across picnics including the time needed to prepare, make food, travel, setup and pack up. We occasionally run week day picnics if a client has their heart set on that certain day for say a proposal, anniversary, birthday or other special occasion. A week day picnic is a full day of work for us so we charge an additional $200 + GST for a week day picnic to cover the additional time involved. Please get in touch if you would like a week day picnic and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

OUR STORY

We’re a young local couple who are lucky to call the Blue Mountains home and feel privileged to be able to create special moments for all of our wonderful clients. We love getting outdoors and enjoying nature in our own backyard whether that be bushwalking, checking out cool lookouts, kayaking or 4wding. We also like food and wine too!

We created Blue Mountains Picnics in August 2020 as we thought it would be an exciting business to put together combining a lot of our passions. We wanted to give anyone the opportunity to experience the Blue Mountains through the lens of a local by finding stunning spots that aren’t over crowded so you can really connect with nature and those you love. We’ve put a lot of thought and time into every detail of our picnics which showcase everything the Blue Mountains has to offer from the beautiful views, diverse wildlife and delicious food.

Our primary focus is now helping our clients with arguably the biggest moments of their lives being weddings and proposals. Our goal is to make these moments stress free, cost effective and something you will cherish for the rest of your life. It really warms our heart to be a part of such special milestones and there is nothing we love more than getting a rave review from a client who was blown away by their experience.

We also run Blue Mountains Weddings at the stunning Leuralla Amphitheatre and offer all-inclusive packages for elopements, micro weddings and wedding packages for up to 200 people.

By choosing us for your special day, you are also supporting a small business with each and every client meaning a lot to us. We’re the sole owners of the business and have put in a lot of hard work, risk and investment of our own hard earned money to get established. It is also very important to us to support other local businesses whether that be our in-house celebrants and photographers, our team who helps us setup and deliver the picnics, our suppliers and more. We want to showcase and help as many local businesses and families as possible.

ORGANISING YOUR PICNIC IS AS EASY AS

You can see our packages and available dates and times via our website. When you’re ready you can book a picnic online or contact us for a week day picnic. To secure your booking you either need to pay in full or put down a $100 + GST non refundable deposit with payment plan options available at no extra cost. We can take bookings as late as the Wednesday prior however if you want to book closer than that please call us ASAP as we may struggle to squeeze you in last minute.

We then email you all the important information in the lead up to your picnic. You can also select your food, beverages and chalkboard message quickly and easily via our website once you have booked. We’re also available to answer any queries you may have.

Discover your stunning picnic spot where your picnic will magically be set up waiting for you as we leave before you arrive so you can enjoy ‘stumbling’ across the picnic in privacy. We also provide your choice of still or sparkling water chilled on ice for every picnic and will also deliver your food and drinks if you choose the catered option.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We don’t publicly advertise our exact locations so we can continue to keep them a secret. For this reason we provide our clients with the directions the day prior to the picnic and ask that you do not share the exact location! However if you're planning a proposal, elopement or wedding we do provide you with the location in advance.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Our delicious food and beverages will have your mouth watering! We have partnered with our friends from The Bunker to put together top quality food boxes made daily by a chef. We utilise as many local ingredients as possible plus cater for allergies, vegans, celiacs and all other dietary requirements. You can choose one of the following boxes which are included in a Gourmet Picnic

Charcuterie Box

  • Mixed cured and cold cut meats including hot sopressa, prosciutto, triple smoked ham and olive salami
  • Manchego sheeps milk and double french brie cheese
  • Mixed Olives marinated at The Bunker
  • Lavosh crackers from Kurrajong kitchen (local Blue Mountains company)
  • Apricot jam
  • Dried fruit/nuts
  • Fresh seasonal fruit

Breakfast Box

  • Bacon and egg wraps
  • Mini granola and yoghurt bowl
  • Muffin
  • Banana Bread
  • Fresh seasonal fruit

Dessert Box

  • Strawberry tart
  • Rocky road
  • Nutella brownie
  • Doughnut
  • Caramel kisses
  • Fresh berries

These boxes are delivered to your picnic in an insulated picnic basket to keep your food cool until you’re ready to consume it and we also provide a grazing tray, cutlery and napkins. Every Gourmet Picnic also gets a choice of 2 complimentary beverages including beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages which we also deliver in an ice bucket with matching glassware. Every picnic also gets a choice of still or sparkling water.

NEVER GONE ON A PROPER PICNIC?

Let’s face it, people rarely go on picnics as while everyone loves them the hassle of having to buy the food, transport everything, setting up and then having to clean and sort everything out afterwards takes the enjoyment out of it.

Included as part of every picnic is the hire of our picnic equipment including transport, setup, pack up and cleaning. Our picnic setting consists of

  • 2 rugs to replace a traditional picnic blanket
  • Lots of cushions so you’re super comfy
  • Decor including flowers, lantern and more.
  • Picnic basket, blankets, games, sunscreen, insect repellant and a first aid kit
  • Bluetooth speaker so you can play your favourite music
  • Table to place drinks
  • Ice bucket and glassware

We can mail you a professionally printed Gift Certificate at no extra cost!

We make it super simple to organise an amazing gift for your friend or loved one. We have an online system to organise your Gift Certificate which takes less than 5 minutes.Once you have gifted it, the recipient follows the instructions on the certificate to choose their own location and date/time. If you choose the catered option they can also select all their own food and beverages once they have booked in. It’s really as simple as that!

We also offer Payment Plans on Gift Certificates

You can pay off the Gift Certificate between when you book and need to gift the certificate. All we need is a $50 + GST deposit and then the remainder can be split up into weekly equal payments or any other payment arrangements you like. Best of all we do not charge any extra for this service.
